An independent reference to the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (2001 to 2012) and its early festival editions.

Not official

This site is unofficial. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the museum, the MoCCA Arts Festival or the Society of Illustrators. It uses no logo or artwork of theirs, sells nothing and offers no tickets or membership. For the current festival, go to moccafest.org.

How entries are made

The text is drawn from pages of the museum's own website as preserved in an internet archive, and rewritten in our words. Each card gives an accession number, the archived page it rests on and a confidence mark. Where the archive says nothing, the card says so rather than guessing. Editions with no surviving page are shown as "little recorded".

Coverage

Only a few editions carry real detail: 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2010. The people index is mostly exhibitors from 2002 and online artists from the DUCK! exhibit. It is a partial register and will stay one unless better sources turn up.

2008 is not covered: the archived pages give nothing for that year. Nor is the Society of Illustrators era beyond a short outline on After 2012, and venues after 2012 are not mapped.

Corrections

This site has no public contact address yet. A correction channel will be added here once one exists.

Privacy

No cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Search runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere. The hosting provider counts requests in aggregate.
